Reading in the Content Areas
I use a research-based apprenticeship approach to teaching reading in all of the content areas. The emphasis is on helping students to be aware of what they are thinking as they read, and sharing strategies that help them make sense of the text. These are skills that students will continue to use as they move on to high school and college level texts.
